Claudius the drool monster!

Two days ago Claudius turned into the uber drool monster. I mean normally he drools a little bit, but this was ridiculous. The trip to the vet today lead to; a Ranula (Causes a soft swelling under the tongue that leads to difficulty in chewing or swallowing.) Which his causing him discomfort, and problems eating, drinking and cleaning himself. He got some minor blood work today as well as an antibiotic, and an anti-inflammatory to take twice a day. Hopefully that will help clear everything up however if not it will lead to more blood work, x-rays, surgery, anesthesia and/or more! I am praying it won't be that serious, not only for my very empty bank account but for Claudius. I know he has no patience for being sick or being messed with.

Bunny

Right now I just got home from work, I am sitting in my fluffy chair and watching Claudius trying to figure out where his chair went. While his health has helped bring back some eyesight but he would still be classified blind. He gets around by memory now more than by wiskers. Today my fantastic boyfriend cleaned and organized the house but doing so meant moving several of my diner chairs back to the diner table in the dining area. This also meant that Claudius's new favorite hang out, my Mimi's buffet, is a four foot hop not a hop on a chair then a hop to the buffet. After trying to figure out where the heck his chair went he did a little prairie dog stand, and realizing there was only more height he huffed, and promptly hopped up onto my lap. I guess that makes my feeling about the chair being moved difficult, because I got my snuggle bug out of it! :P

...Does make typing a bit difficult though.

New news!

Anton took his first steps outside the other day. Not once in his five years have he ever had the courage, or even the inclination to explore the outside world with the other kitties. Dr. Wiggles is big on the outside and will run outside whenever he is allowed. Claudius will occasionally brave the outside world and explore, where Ani likes to have brief visits, sniff the fresh air and hop back inside. The other day all three were outside and I was standing next to the door and Anton stepped towards the door and after about 5 minutes of sniffing he took one paw, then the other, then a HUGE stretch and eventually, all four paws were outside! Anton then took a deep breath, sniffed a leaf and hopped back inside like a little bunny. So proud of my little baby!!!

In even bigger news, My daddy got a job!!!! My dad has been struggling to find a job for a very long time, battling against age and a lack of a degree no matter how amazing he is that can be difficult! I would like to congratulate my dad as well as a big mental hug for the company that hired him. I know he will be successful because he really puts his heart into all he does.

Also I attended my first North Dallas Etsy meeting tonight and am really excited about it. I really feel like I am going to have the opportunity to learn from these experienced people and become better at my craft. Thanks to that I really hope I will be able to reach my goal of totally supporting my special needs animals with my shop. I just hope that I am able to contribute something back to the group, aside from pet care tips! :P
